Plain definition
Rental reimbursement pays toward a rental car when your vehicle is disabled by a covered comprehensive or collision claim, up to daily and total limits on the endorsement. It does not apply to routine maintenance or uninsured breakdowns.
Why it matters
Repair shops run two weeks for parts; daily rental caps of $30–$50 and 30-day totals may not cover a comparable vehicle unless you buy higher limits.

Hail dents require two weeks in the body shop. Rental reimbursement pays $40/day up to $1,200 total while your comp claim proceeds.
