PolicyPlain aims to make insurance education usable for people with disabilities—including keyboard-only users, screen-reader users, and people who need larger text, higher contrast, or less motion.
On-site accessibility controls
Use the Accessibility button in the header to adjust:
- Text size (default / large / extra large)
- High contrast mode
- Reduced motion
- Underlined links (does not rely on color alone)
- Enhanced keyboard focus rings
Preferences are stored in your browser only (localStorage). They are not sent to our servers.
Built-in features

Standards we target
We design toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA for core reading and tool flows. Interactive calculators are complex; we continue to improve labelling, error text, and keyboard paths.
Known limitations
- Some multi-step tools are mouse-friendly first; we are expanding keyboard shortcuts and live-region result announcements.
- Third-party ads (when enabled) may not meet the same standard—EU users can decline non-essential cookies.
- Charts and waterfall visuals include text summaries; we keep refining non-visual equivalents.
