Towing and labor

Roadside help on auto policies for tow, jump starts, and flat changes within limits.

Plain definition

Towing and labor coverage reimburses roadside assistance expenses—tow to a shop, battery jump, tire change—when your vehicle breaks down, subject to dollar limits per disablement and policy year. Some carriers bundle it with comp or sell it as an endorsement.

Why it matters

One long tow off the interstate can exceed default $50 limits if you skimp on roadside coverage.

Example

Your alternator dies on a highway. Towing and labor pays up to $100 toward the tow to your chosen repair facility.

Common misunderstanding

It is not full mechanical breakdown insurance for engine repairs—only roadside events listed in the endorsement.
