What this desk covers, what it doesn’t, and how we date changes so you don’t confuse news with evergreen guides.

Direct answer: PolicyPlain Updates are short, dated notes about insurance rules, forms, or public data shifts. Evergreen Guides explain how coverage works. We keep them separate so a 2024 explainer doesn’t get mistaken for a 2026 fee or statute change.
Each Update should tell you who is affected, what to verify this week, and where the source of truth lives (DOI bulletin, NAIC material, carrier filing summary, etc.). We do not invent news to fill a calendar.
If something on a Guide is outdated, we revise that Guide and bump its updated date—Updates are not a dumping ground for full rewrites.
